BATON ROUGE, La. -- The 15th-ranked Arizona Wildcats (10-8) split matches against Texas A&M-Kingsville (5-6) and 10th-ranked LSU (14-9) on Friday at the LSU Beach Invitational. The Wildcats claimed a 4-1 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville, but fell to LSU 3-2.

The Cats cruised past Texas A&M-Kingsville with victories at pairs No. 1, 2, 3 and 5. Natalie Anselmo and Olivia Macdonald opened with a two-set victory at No. 1, while Olivia Hallaran and Kacey Nady did the same at No. 2. The No. 3 pair of Hailey Devlin and Stephany Purdue claimed victory in three sets with Jonny Baham and Brooke Burling earning a two-set victory at No. 5.

Arizona's second match of the day was a nail biter but LSU came out on top 3-2. Devlin and Purdue earned one of the victories on the third court, while Baham and Burling notched a two-set victory at No. 5.

The Wildcats will continue action on Saturday at 7 a.m. MST against Central Arkansas and will finish the LSU Beach Invitational against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 10 a.m.
