LOS ANGELES – Arizona senior center Kaleb Tarczewski has been named to the 2016 John R. Wooden Award Watch List. Chosen by a preseason poll of national college basketball experts, the list is comprised of 50 student-athletes who are the early front-runners for college basketball's most prestigious individual honor.
Tarczewski is on pace to become the winningest player in program history after three decorated seasons as the everyday starting big man for the Wildcats. An integral part of Arizona's back-to-back appearances in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, the seven footer is also approaching 1,000 points and 500 rebounds for his career.
The Wooden Award is not the first national recognition for the 7-footer from Claremont, N.H. He was also named to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Watch List earlier this fall as one of the nation's best big men.
Tarczewski, who previously received Academic All-Pac-12 honors, is currently finishing his Business degree in the prestigious Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona.
