TUCSON, Ariz. – Juniors Penina Snuka and Kalei Mau have been named to the all-Pac-12 team, commissioner Larry Scott announced on Tuesday. Tyler Spriggs was also named to the Pac-12 all-freshman team more.
Snuka, a Pac-12 all-freshman honoree in 2013 and all-Pac-12 member in 2014, is the conference leader in total assists with 1,323 and second in assists per set with 10.93. She is second on the team averaging 3.32 digs per set. Snuka leads the conference in double-doubles with 21, including 10 of Arizona's last 11 matches. The junior is fifth in Arizona history with 3,753 career assists and sixth in career digs with 1,194, the most of any setter in Arizona history.
Mau, a first-time conference honoree, a year after averaging 1.27 kills in 49 sets, is third in the Pac-12 with 4.33 kills/set. Her 489 kills this season are currently ninth in Arizona history while her 27 matches with double-digit kills are sixth. Mau has 18-or-more kills in 14 of her last 24 matches, including eight 20-plus-kill matches.
In her debut campaign, Spriggs is second on the team with 2.67 kills/set on .182 hitting. The Los Angeles native has added 58 digs and 40 blocks as well.
USC's Samantha Bricio and Mick Haley were named Pac-12's player and coach of the year while Stanford's Haley Hodson and Madi Bugg earned the conference's freshman and setter of the year honors. Taylor Formico of UCLA was named Pac-12 Libero of the Year.
