TUCSON, Ariz. – The NSCAA announced that sophomore attacker Gabi Stoian was named to the All-Pacific Region First Team on Thursday. Stoian joins nine other Pac-12 student-athletes that were named to the first team.
Despite a leg injury that kept Stoian out for four matches this season, she still led the Wildcats in all the major categories. She led the team in goals (six), assists (eight), points (20) and shots (59). She also led the Pac-12 in total assists.
Her first-team selection just adds to the impressive amount of accolades she has acquired already this season. She was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 25, earned District 8 CoSIDA Academic All-District second team honors, was a Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention selection and was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team this year as well.
After two seasons, Stoian has the fifth-most career goals (19), the third-most career (15) and the fourth-most points (53).
