- Arizona and Gonzaga will meet for the seventh time ever on Saturday afternoon in what will be the Wildcats' first-ever game at “The Kennel” in Spokane, Wash. Of their six head-to-head meetings, two have come in the NCAA Tournament, two in Tucson and two in neutral site games. The closest meeting to Spokane came in a neutral site non-conference match-up in the 2011-12 season in the “Battle in Seattle”, played at Key Arena some 285 miles away.
- Head coach Sean Miller and company will come into Spokane on the heels of another successful November. UA's 6-1 record last month gives the program a November mark of 36-6 (.857) in the Miller era, including 24 wins in the last 25 games played in the month.
- The Cats are coming off two wins in three games in the 2015 Wooden Legacy over Thanksgiving in California. UA was led by Ryan Anderson in scoring, rebounding and free throw shooting. The senior averaged 18.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per game in the tournament while shooting 20-39 (.513) from the field and 14-18 (.778) from the free throw line.
- The Wildcats enter Saturday's game as one of the nation's best defensive rebounding teams. According to KenPom.com, Arizona ranks fourth in the nation in defensive rebounding percentage at 82.8 percent. It's a continuation of the program's dominance of the glass as the Wildcats have ranked in the top ten in defensive rebounding percentage in three of the previous four seasons.
- In memory of former Arizona Basketball player Michael Wright, who passed away last month at the age of 35, his former teammates, managers, coaches and team staff members established this endowment to provide scholarship support for a former Arizona student-athlete who has finished their NCAA eligibility and wants to return to the University of Arizona to complete their undergraduate degree. The fund has raised over $50,000 and you can contribute at https://beardownchallenge.com/campaigns/michael-wright-a-club-scholarship-endowment.
