Pac-12 Releases Women?s Track and Field All-Century Team

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Pac-12 Conference released their list for the women's All-Century Team this morning with five Arizona alumni making the list of 51 athletes.

Earning the incredible honors were Amy Skieresz, Brigetta Barrett, Tanya Hughes, Meg Ritchie, and Brianna Glenn.

Amy Skieresz (1996-1999): Amy is a 10-time All-American in both track and field and cross country, having won seven NCAA titles throughout her career. She also became the first woman in NCAA Division 1 history to win four NCAA titles in the same year. During the 1996-97 season, Amy became the NCAA cross country champion, the NCAA 5,000 meter Indoor Champion, the NCAA 10,000 meter outdoor champion and the NCAA 5,000 meter outdoor champion. Amy became the first Arizona female athlete to win the NCAA cross country title in 1996. During the the 1997-98 season, Amy captured the NCAA 5,000 meter indoor title, and the NCAA 5,000 meter and 10,000 meter outdoor titles. She was named NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the year in 1997 and 1998.

Brigetta Barrett (2011-2013): Brigetta's list of accomplishments are second to none. She was the2011, 2013 USA Champion; 2012 Olympic Games Silver Medalist; 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials Silver Medalist; 2012, 2013 Bowerman Finalist; 2011 U.S. Championships Gold Medalist; 2011 World U. Games Gold Medalist; 2011 World Championships Finalist; 2011, 2012, 2013 NCAA Indoor Champion; 2011, 2012, 2013 NCAA Outdoor Champion; Four-time NCAA Indoor All-American; Four-time NCAA Outdoor All-American; 2011,2011, 2012, 2013 MPSF Indoor Champion; 2011, 2012, 2013 Pac-10/12 Outdoor Champion; and the 2013 IAAF World Championships Silver Medalist

Tanya Hughes (1990-1993): 1994 Women of the Year named by the NCAA, four-time High Jump champion,a three-time Pacific-10 Conference high-jump champion; a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team and 1993 World University Games Team; 1992 NCAA Female Athlete of the Year in track and field; a GTE Academic All-American; and the top-ranked American high jumper in 1991 and 1992.

Meg Ritchie (1980-1983): Four year letterwinner and All-American in the shot put and discus. Was the 1980 AIAW discus and shot put champion, the 1981 AIAW shot put champion and discus runner-up, the 1981 indoor shot put champion, 1982 NCAA shot put and discus champion and 1983 NCAA indoor shot put champion. Was the Western Collegiate Athletic Association champion in the shot put in 1980-83 and WCAA Champion in the discus in 1980-82 (runner up in 1983). Set United Kingdom, British Commonwealth Games, American Collegiate, NCAA, WCAA< Rincon Vista Stadium, Arizona Open, and Arizona school records in the shot put (62-2 1/2) and discus (221-5). Was the 1982 European Commonwealth Games Champion in the discus and was a discuss finalist at the 1980 Olympic Games. Finished fifth in the discus at the 1984 Olympics. Two-Time recipient of the Conquistadores Special Recognition Award

Brianna Glenn (2000-2002): Brianna Glenn was a historic athlete for the Wildcats, her accomplishments include being the 2002 USA Outdoor LJ champion (6.46m/21-3.5), 2009 USA Outdoor LJ runner-up (6.82m/22-4.5w), 2002 NACAC LJ (6.22m/20-5) and 4x100m gold medalist (44.10), 2001 NCAA 200m (22.92w) and LJ champion (6.5m/21-6.25),and the 2000-2001 PAC 10 Athlete of the Year
