Louisville, KY. – Senior Claire Green competed as an individual in the 2017 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 18th in Louisville, KY. The senior clocked a time of 20:02.88 in the 6K race finishing in 24th place and earning All-America honors.

"I am just thrilled and surprised with how today went," said Green. "My goal was to finish in the top 40 and become an All-American, so to finish in the top 25 is unbelievable and I am still having trouble processing it. I wouldn't have my last cross country season end any other way than with an A on my chest."

"It was a great race," said head cross country coach James Li. "Before the race we really didn't put too much pressure on her, but we made sure she knows she can finish really well. She had the best race of her life, it is unbelievable for her to finish 24th at nationals. It gives everyone the kind of hope and idea that everyone can see what they can do. Claire (Green) is incredible."

Green caps off her senior year finishing in the top 25 in all contests, highlighted by a third-place finish at the Dave Murray Invitational and a seventh-place finish at the Paul Short Run.
