2017 was a great year for swim and dive. We had a few school records broken, introduced a new head coach, and amazing individual and team performances. As the year comes to a close, we would like to take a look back at the Top 10 moments of 2017 for Arizona swim and dive.

1. Justin Wright broke his 200 fly school record for the third time in his career on December 2 with a 1:40.57. This impressive feat earned him almost 10,000 impressions on Twitter.
2. Nick Thorne won the 400 IM at the Texas Invitational with 3:41.47 on December 1. The photo of him after his phenomenal swim earned 18,753 Instagram views and 888 likes, both of which are our highest.

3. Earlier this year, the women's 200 free relay team, consisting of Katrina Konopka, Annie Ochitwa, Morgan Ginnis, and Taylor Garcia, earned All-America Honors at NCAA Championships. 
4. Arizona women continued their dominate start with a win over UCLA on November 3.
5. Twenty-six Wildcats were honored as CSCAA Scholar All-Americans and Honorable Mentions in May, showing our Wildcats are exceptional both in the pool and in the classroom.  
6. Both the men and women beat Utah on October 28. The men started this season strong, and the women continued their winning streak.   
7. Three Wildcats (Jorge Iga, Katrina Konopka, and Justin Wright) competed in the World University Games in August, representing their respective countries and U of A very well. 
8. After swimming impressively at the Texas Invitational, the CSCAA ranked our men at #16 and our women at #17, drawing 10,000 Twitter impressions and 156 engagements.
9. The excitement about the 2017-18 is clear as the announcement of this season's schedule earned over 9,300 impressions and 246 engagements on Twitter.
10. New Head Coach Augie Busch announced he would be returning to Tucson to follow in his father's footsteps on July 8. Busch has had an impressive start, and we are excited to see what he brings to this team in the future.

Up Next: We are excited about all that 2018 has to offer, including the first meet of the new year as the women host a quad meet on January 5. Both men and women will travel to the Bay Area to take on Stanford and UC Berkeley Jan. 19-20.
