AMES, Iowa – The No. 10 GymCats traveled to Ames, Iowa this week to compete against No. 12 Iowa State. Arizona fell to Iowa State with a final score of 194.975 to 195.450, despite hitting 24 for 24 routines.

"We faced a lot of adversity tonight," said head coach John Court. "We had to overcome Jenny Leung's injury early in the meet, and the team rose up to have her back. The girls left with their tanks empty tonight. They gave me 120-minutes of hard work, and I'm proud of them for that. It's only the second meet of the year, and the first away meet at that. There's still a lot to come from Arizona gymnastics this season."

Arizona Falls Short of 49.000 on All Events:
For the first time this season, Arizona did not receive a final event score 49.000 or higher on any of the four events. They ended competition with a 48.750 on vault, a 48.750 on the uneven bars, a 48.825 on the balance beam, and a 48.650 on floor.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner:
Senior Kennady Schneider will bring home the first place title in the floor competition with a score of 9.875. Her spirit and fire captivated the judges, and her self-choreographed routine shinned out on the floor. Schneider also earned a 9.725 on the uneven bars and a 9.750 on the balance beam.
