TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona soccer team will compete in their only home match of the spring season against New Mexico on Sunday April 7th at 11:00 a.m. MST at Mulcahy Stadium. Admission is free of charge. The last time the two teams met in the spring of 2017, the Cats came out on top with a 3-2 win.
Last time out, Arizona conquered the Sun Devils by a score of 5-3, with goals coming from Jada Talley, Leah Carillo, Brynn Moga and Iyana Zimmerman.
The Wildcats are coming off a 13-6-2 season, which saw them advance to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. Arizona returns three of their top four goal scorers in Jada Talley, Jill Aguilera and Emily Knous.
A few key losses include Arizona's winningest player in school history Kennedy Kieneker and their winningest goalkeeper of all time Lainey Burdett.
Last season, Talley led the Wildcats with seven goals and finished tied for the lead with 15 total points. Her counterpart up top Aguilera scored four goals on the season and was second on the team with five assists. Knous stormed onto the scene as a freshman last year and scored four goals while dishing out three assists.
The Wildcats also return all four of their defenders as Morgan McGarry, Hallie Pearson, Samantha Falasco and Sabrina Enciso will be patrolling the back third once again.
