Tucson, Ariz.. – Following a performance that saw three wins, a pair of outdoor PRs and a school record, sophomore Jordan Geist was named the USTFCCCA Division I Men's Athlete of the Week and the Pac-12 Men's Field Athlete of the Week. This is his fourth weekly conference honor and is the first Wildcat to earn the USTFCCCA weekly honor in the outdoor season.
 
Geist opened the Jim Click Shootout winning the hammer throw with a mark of 67.40m (221-1) to set a new PR. The mark is No. 3 on the Pac-12 list this season and No. 15 on the NCAA list. He followed that performance with a win in the discus throw, tossing a mark of 53.16m (174-5). Highlighting the night was an outdoor PR and win in the shot put. He putted the shot 21.28m (69-9.75) to set the Arizona outdoor shot put school record.
 
The Pac-12 Conference has claimed five of the possible eight USTFCCCA weekly honors, with Geist winning the first male honor for the conference. All of the athletes will compete in the Pac-12 Championships at Roy P. Drachman Stadium beginning May 11th.
 
Up next, Geist and the throws squad will travel to San Diego, Calif. to compete in the Triton Invitational beginning on April 12th.
