TUCSON, Ariz.- Former Wildcat Shelley Duncan, a second round draft pick by the New York Yankees, has been named a Baseball America first-team All-American, the publication announced on Wednesday. Duncan becomes the 13th Arizona player to be recognized by the publication since 1984 and just the fifth Baseball America first-team honoree, joining former Wildcats Bob Ralston (1984), Alan Zinter (1989), Scott Erickson (1989) and Ben Diggins (2000).
Duncan, who recently signed a contract to play in the Yankees organization, has now received recognition from all four major media outlets that cover college baseball having already garnered first-team honors from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, Baseball Weekly and The Sporting News.
