Arizona Football Saddened to Learn of the Loss of Troy Dickey

Troy Dickey, a top receiver on Arizona's 1992-93 teams, passed away after suffering a recent stroke.

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona football family was saddened to learn that Troy Dickey, an integral part of Arizona's offense during the Desert Swarm era, passed away following a recent stroke. Dickey was a top receiver and Pac-12 honorable mention selection on the Wildcats' 1993 Fiesta Bowl championship team.

In his two seasons with the Wildcats, Dickey totaled 68 receptions for 847 yards and nine touchdowns (including bowl statistics). His best played seemed to come in big games, including a career-high 109 yards in the 1992 Hancock Bowl. As a senior, he totaled 92 yards and two touchdowns in a victory over rival Arizona State, then capped his career with two more touchdowns in the Wildcats' shutout of No. 10 Miami in the Fiesta Bowl.

Statement from Arizona Athletics:
"Words cannot express our sadness in learning the loss of Troy Dickey, one of the great players on our 1992 and 1993 teams. Our hearts go out to Dickey's family and friends during this difficult time. We ask everyone in the Wildcat family to join us in expressing our sympathy and sharing condolences to all of those suffering from this tragic loss."
