FOOTBALL WRAPS UP REGULAR SEASON, AWAITS BOWL ANNOUNCEMENT
Â
I was hoping to start this week celebrating a Territorial Cup victory, but unfortunately, we weren't able to finish our regular season the way we wanted to. I can tell you, with this being my first Territorial Cup game, I could feel the energy and passion on both sides. It's easy to see why this rivalry is one of the best in the country, and it will certainly be a priority during my tenure at Arizona.
Â
Looking at the season as a whole, I think there are certainly some areas we can improve on, but we can all see some very encouraging things as well. From the play of Khalil Tate and our offense to the number of up-and-comers on our defense, I feel like there's a lot to be excited about as we look towards our bowl game and into the 2018 season.
Â
Speaking of the bowl game, we'll officially find out our destination on Sunday. It's our fifth bowl game appearance in the past six years, which is a pretty solid track record. I want to remind our current season ticket holders and Wildcat Club members that they have until Sunday, Dec. 3 at noon to make a request for bowl game tickets and receive priority seating.
Â
Once the bowl destination is announced on Sunday, we'll have bowl game tickets on sale to the general public.
ArizonaWildcats.com/bowlgame will be your online hub for all fan information related to the bowl game, including travel packages from Bon Voyage Travel. We're looking forward to seeing where and who we'll be playing and we hope you'll be there to help us finish the year on a winning note.
Â
STILL A LOT OF SEASON LEFT FOR MEN'S BASKETBALL
Â
I know a lot of people were disappointed with our men's basketball results in the Bahamas, including our coaching staff and players, but it's early in the season and there is still plenty of time to get things going in the right direction. I'm confident Coach Miller and his staff will regain their footing. With 25 regular-season games remaining, we still have all of our goals in front of us.
Â
I thought Coach Miller was very candid with his comments earlier this week and provided some solid insight on what they'll be working on moving forward. If you missed his press conference, you can watch it in its entirety by clicking
HERE.
Â
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone tonight as we welcome Long Beach State to McKale. It'll be great to be back at home, playing in front of the most passionate fans in the nation.
