PUERTO VALLARTA, Mex. -- The defending national champion Arizona women's golf team claimed a 20-stroke lead on day two of the El Tigre Invitational. The Cats led by one shot after the first round, and extended that lead by 19 shots on the second day.
Senior
Bianca Pagdanganan continued her stellar play, carding her second consecutive 2-under round to take the individual lead after two days. Sophomore
Yu-Sang Hou currently resides in second place, one shot back of Pagdanganan after posting a 1-over 73 on Tuesday. Freshman
Ya Chun Chang tallied four birdies on the day to get to even par, good for solo fourth place.
Senior
Haley Moore bounced back with a wonderful round of 70 (-2), getting her into a tie for 12th. Junior
Sandra Nordaas also improved on her Thursday score, shooting a 2-over 74. Senior
Desiree Hong is competing as an individual and sits in a tie for 41st after two rounds.
"The Cats had another solid day," said head coach
Laura Ianello. "We are led by Bianca in first and Yu-Sang is one back of her in second. Ya Chun is also playing solid and tied for fifth. Today we had very good management. We struggled with putting but I know the ladies will fight hard to bring home a victory tomorrow."
The final round of the El Tigre Invitational takes place tomorrow.
