TUCSON, Ariz.— Arizona Swim & Dive will face the Minnesota Golden Gophers (No. 24 men's, No. 23 women's) on Saturday at Hillenbrand Aquatics Center in what will be the Cats' final home meet of the season and Senior Day.
At the meet, 12 Arizona seniors will be honored.
The Cats are coming off mixed results from their previous two meets on the men's and women's sides. The Wildcat women dominated NAU in their first meet of the season on Jan. 3, defeating the Lumberjacks 162.5-80.5. Last week, Arizona's men fell to Harvard 122-178.
Commendable Cats:
Arizona's Mason Nyboer had some strong swims against the Harvard Crimson last week, taking first place in the 500 Free (4:26.07) and 1000 Free (9:10.19).
Another impressive performance in 2025 came from Malia Rausch when Arizona's women met NAU two weeks ago. Rausch took the first place spots in the 500 Free (5:03.12) and the 200 Free (1:52.06).
Throughout the season, Arizona's Daniel Young, Ralph Daleiden, Tomas Lukminas and Haakon Naughton have been some of the pace-setters for the Wildcats. Lukminas holds Arizona's best times this season in the 50 Free (19.53) and the 100 Free (42.20), followed closely in both events by Daleiden (19.69 and 42.33, respectively). Both Lukminas and Daleiden have earned NCAA B Cuts in these events.
At the Wolfpack Invite, junior Haakon Naughton put up two personal bests and two of the best times in the country for the 100 and 200 Fly. His 45.27 finish in the 100 Fly puts him at No. 4 in the Arizona record books and at No. 17 in the country. Naughton's 1:40.55 finish in the 200 Fly is the No. 8 time in the nation and is the second best time in program history.
Young holds this season's best time for the Cats in the 100 BR (52.66, NCAA B Cut).
On the men's diving side, Arizona's Gage DuBois continues to dominate. Gage has been honored with Big 12 Diver of the Week three times this season, and last week took home the top spot in the 3m (378.60) and second place in the 1m (341.40).
For the women's diving squad, Brooke Earley and Zara Ayazi have both received weekly conference honors for the Cats once, with Ayazi being named Big 12 Diver of the Week after an impressive performance against NAU, earning first place in the 1m (286.73). Earlier this season, Earley earned the sixth place spot in the 1m diving event, scoring 293.00, and placed 13th in the Women's 3m event at USA Diving Winter Nationals.
Golden Gophers to watch:
Minnesota's distance team holds some top-20 times. Senior Bar Soloveychik's 8:52.82 1000 Free finish puts him at No. 13 in the country, followed closely by his teammate Joey Tepper (8:54.10, No. 18). On the women's side, Eliot Kennedy holds the NCAA's No. 9 spot in the 100 Free (9:34.79) and the No. 20 spot for the 1650 Free (16:08.24).
Freshman Jacob Johnson has the No. 15 time for the 100 Fly (45.21), just .06 seconds faster than Naughton's 45.27. Johnson also swam a school-record breaking 200 Fly (1:41.56) that put him at No. 18 in the country for the event and one second behind Naughton.
Minnesota's Kaiser Neverman is No. 6 in the country for the 100 I.M. (48.40).
Minnesota's
Livi Wanner recently earned two 'B' cuts, in the 50 free (22.21) and in the 100 free (49.13). Wanner was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after this performance at the Minnesota Invite. Arizona's
Lexi Duchsherer holds the women's top time this season in the 50 Free (22.26).
