Cats Camp Day 11: Slow-Cooked Brisket

By Arizona Athletics

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats executed one of their best practices of the spring on Thursday morning, bringing Redline energy and commitment to their 11th camp installment.

Competition remains high across the board as the Wildcats come down the home stretch and the Spring Showcase approaches.

One thing the Wildcats look to benefit from this season is having all pieces of their field goal operation in place during spring camp, a luxury they did not have last season. The extended amount of prep time for that unit should pay dividends for Arizona's kicking game, a concept that was compared to brisket by Special Teams Coordinator Craig Naivar and can be seen in full below.

The renewal date for those looking to continue their season ticket commitment is also fast approaching — Don't wait, renew your season tickets here well before the May 1 deadline.

Quote of the Day

5 of the 6 guys within our [kicking] unit are here right now. To have a runway to build the trust, the continuity, the reps, and all those things ... I think is huge. Slow-cooked brisket that goes for 18 hours at 225º is a lot better than one that's in a microwave for four minutes.
