Junior (2017-2018)
Went 21-10 overall in singles competition during his first year with Arizona, going 13-8 in dual play… His 21 singles victories tie him for 11th most in a single season at Arizona (since 1988), and his 13 regular season wins add him to a six-way tie at 19th place for most in a single season… Went 12-17 overall in doubles competition (9-13 in dual play) posting a 10-11 overall record with Alejandro Reguant (7-7 in dual play) as well as going 2-4 with Aaro Pollanen and 0-2 with Carlos Hassey during the regular season… Maier’s success in doubles brought tied him for 23rd place in Single Season Doubles Wins and Single Season Dual Doubles Wins….

Freshman/Sophomore at Utah State (2015-2017)
Compiled a 31-17 singles record and a 32-19 doubles record in dual play after competing in the Mountain West Conference for two years. .. Went 5-0 during the 2017 MWC Tournament Championship which includes a match clinching point over UNLV in the championship game

Son of Jurgen and Ruth Maier… Majoring in pre-business... Name is pronounced JOE-nuss MAY-er.

Why Arizona?
"I chose the University of Arizona because it's tennis program has a lot of potential," said Maier, "as well as the coaching staff, which I believe can help me get better and grow as a tennis player and as a person in general. I'm really looking forward to being part of the team next semester."
