Facility - Bear Down Beach

Bear Down Beach is home to the women's Beach Volleyball team and is one of the newest additions to the athletics facilities. The courts were completed in December 2013 in preparation for the inaugural sand volleyball season in the spring of 2014. Sand volleyball became the school’s 20th varsity sport when it was announced on Jan. 15, 2013. The facility features four championship courts which contain 18” deep, beach quality, high-end sand. Arizona Athletics has future plans to add grandstands, concessions, restrooms as well as a new front entry.

Located at the corner of Enke Drive and Campbell Avenue at Jimenez Field, the Arizona Sand Volleyball Courts are centrally located to campus as they are adjacent to McKale Center and directly south of the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center. Admission to sand volleyball is free and fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.
