TUCSON, Ariz. - Freshman Pitcher Alicia Hollowell threw a one-hitter Saturday as the No. 2 Arizona softball team notched a 4-1 win over the Oregon Ducks, improving to 33-3.
Senior Lovie Jung hit a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning to put the Cats up 1-0. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Jung was intentionally walked to load the bases for junior Mackenzie Vandergeest. Vandergeest hit a sacrifice fly to score freshman Autumn Champion.
Hollowell gave up only one hit and one run, improving to 20-3 on the season.
The Ducks committed four errors on the night, allowing three unearned runs by the Wildcats.
Arizona will once again take on Oregon Sunday at 1 p.m. at Hillenbrand Stadium.
