TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona women's golf team placed sixth, Sunday after its third round of competition at the PING/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.

The Wildcats shot a 26-over-par 890 to trail tournament champion UCLA by 29 strokes after the Bruins shot a 3-under-par 861. Southern California took second after carding a 13-over-par 877. New Mexico (881) was in third and Texas (885) occupied the fourth position. California (886) rounded out the top-five

In her first tournament since the Wildcat Invitational sophomore Erica Blasberg tied for sixth place with Irene Cho from Southern California after shooting a 217 (+1). The sophomore from Corona, Calif. participated in two LPGA tournaments as an amateur before returning to team play with the Wildcats.

Sophomore Lani Elson tied for 12th after shooting 3-over-par 219. Junior Miriam Kraschinski tied for 22nd at 6-over-par 222. Sophomore Cassandra Kirkland tied for 59th place after shooting 16-over-par 232 for the tournament. While sophomore Whitney Welch shot a 25-over-par 241 to take 82nd place.

Also competing for Arizona, as an individual is sophomore Katie Christy who to 83rd place after carding 26-over-par 242.

The PING/ASU Invitational completes the Wildcats Spring season. The Wildcats will tee off in the Pac-10 Championship in Somis, California. The conference tournament will be held this year Saticoy Country Club.
