VAIL, Colo. - The Arizona women's golf team shot a 292 (+4) and is in third place after the first round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge. Arizona's Margarita Ramos is tied for third, one stroke off the lead.
The team, which started the day on the back-nine, was in-and-out of the lead all day before dropping three strokes at the par-four eighth and falling five strokes out of the lead. Arizona sits in third place in the 18 team field with two rounds to play. UA trails Virginia and Tulane, who both shot rounds of one-under, by five strokes.
Ramos led the way for the Cats, carding a two-under 70, which tied her for third individually. Ramos trails Therese Koelbaek of UNLV and Brittany Altomare of Virginia by a single shot. Also in the top 10 is Alejandra Llaneza; at even-par the senior is tied for 10th.
