TUCSON –After getting rained out on Sunday, the University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team was able to get in the first round of play at The Battle of Rancho Bernardo on Monday. Held at the Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Resort and Spa, competition will take place Mon.-Tues., March 19-20. The Rancho Bernardo Inn is a par 72, 6,267-yard course.

No. 37 Tulane leads the team race with a score of 293 (+5). No. 8 Arizona State and No. 3 USC share a tie for second place after scoring rounds of 295 (+7). No. 16 Arizona is tied for 13th place with a carding of 313 (+25). Maribel Lopez Porras of Tulane leads the individual race with a three-under 69 on day one.

Freshman Manon Gidali was Arizona's top finisher in a seven-way tie for 22nd place. She shot an opening round of 75 (+3). Senior Margarita Ramos sits in a 10-way tie for 51st after her score of 78 (+6). Freshman Andrea Vilarasau shot a 79 (+7), good for a four-way tie for 61st place.

Senior Isabelle Boineau sits in a six-way tie for 68th. She shot a round of 81 (+9). Senior Nikki Koller rounded out the Wildcat five in a six-way tie for 74th place. She carded an opening round of 82 (+10). Playing as an individual, junior Kyndall Ardoin finished round one in a six-way tie for 74th place. She shot an 82 (+10).

Play will resume at 7:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday.
