TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona's men's golf team will head to Eugene, Ore. on Mar. 25-26 to compete in the Duck Invitational, a two-day, fifteen-team event.
The Oregon Ducks are the host-school for the tournament, which will be played at Eugene Country Club, a par-72, 7,020-yard course. Thirty-six holes will be played on day one of the tournament with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. PT, with the second round following immediately after the first. The final eighteen holes will be played on the second day starting at 8:30 a.m. PT as well.
The fifteen-team field is made up of Oregon, SMU, Washington, Pacific, Oregon State, Gonzaga, Arizona, Washington State, San Francisco, Wichita State, San Jose State, Saint Mary's Utah, UAB, and San Diego.
Arizona's lineup includes Trent Redfern, Juan Pablo Hernandez, Alex McMahon, and Dylan Kornberg.
Last year, Oregon won the Duck Invitational with Oregon's Andrew Vijarro also taking the individual victory. The last time the Wildcats competed in the Duck Invitational was in 2007, when they finished in a tie for third as a team.
The last time out, Arizona finished in seventh place on the leader board at the Don Puckette NIT in Tucson, Ariz. The Wildcats were lead by Juan Pablo Hernandez, who shot a 213 (-3) and finished in a tie for tenth place. Alex McMahon also fired a career low 216 (E) for the tournament, finishing in a tie for 22nd.
