Marker; Sohn Fall in Round of 16 at ITA Regionals

SAN DIEGO – Sophomore Lauren Marker and freshman Hanna Sohn dropped a heartbreaking 8-6 affair to Pepperdine's sixth-seeded tandem of Michaela Cappanolo and Daniele Feneridis in round of 16 doubles play, Saturday on day three of ITA Southwest Regional action.
Saturday's doubles result ends what was a successful run for Arizona in ITA regional play this weekend, as Marker, Sohn, and junior Austin Shayne all picked up victories in the main draw. Arizona posted a 5-4 record in overall action.
No. 58 ranked and sixth-seeded Marker advanced all the way to the round of 16, recording back-to-back victories before eventually falling to UCLA's 12th seeded Kaitlin Ray on Friday.
Sohn and Austin also recorded a win each before being eliminated in the round of 16 and round of 32 respectively.
The Cats are back in action this Friday, as they travel back to Southern California to compete in a tournament hosted by Cal State Northridge.
