Recap: The Arizona Wildcats began their second day of the ITA Pre-Kick Off tournament on a roll. Senior Sumeet Shinde defeated Texas Tech's No. 28 Felipe Soares in remarkable fashion 6-2, 7-6. Shinde saw action for the first time in the tournament this afternoon, playing at the one spot for the Wildcats.

“I was kind of nervous at first,” said Shinde, “I really worked hard in the fall with my fitness everything though, and it really is paying off.”

Robin Chou also collected a 6-1, 2-6, 7-6, victory over Connor Curry on court six to notch Arizona's second point of the dual match. Unfortunately those would be the only points Arizona would score, as Texas Tech went on to claim a 4-2 victory.

Recap: The Wildcats competed well in their final competition of the day in a rematch from Friday against UC Irvine, but unfortunately couldn't quite close the deal. Freshman David Mushayev easily took down Rafael Davidian 6-4, 7-6 on court four, while Shoki Kasahara took care of business in the No. 3 position, dismantling Tyler Pham 6-3, (ret.). The Anteaters managed to claim the other four courts en route to their second victory of the season.

“We have been continually utilizing each and every player on our team throughout the tournament,” said head coach Tad Berkowitz. “It provides valuable experience for us regardless of winning or losing, it is only going to help us big time heading into the rest of the year. Today we used three different guys than we used the first day of the tournament, so we are really using all the guys. Even though the results of the dual matches were not what we wanted, guys still reeled in some big wins for us.”
