Paris Corley Signs NLI With Arizona For 2016-17

TUCSON, Ariz.---

Head coach Vicky Maes and the women's tennis program are extremely excited to announce the signing of Paris Corley from Grants, New Mexico. Corley, a five-star recruit and one of the nation's best seniors, will join the Wildcats in the fall of 2016.

Corley signed her NLI surrounded by family and friends in Phoenix, Arizona, where she trains at Go Beyond International Tennis Academy at the Phoenix Tennis Center.

“I'm so excited to go to The University of Arizona and be a part of a team and program that is as dedicated and closely knit as ours,” Paris said.

Corley's current singles record is 35-14 overall, and includes a recent ITF win in Monterrey, Mexico. She frequently travels abroad to compete in international events, an experience that has helped her mature a lot as a player. She is also a very competent doubles player, and is expected to make a strong impact in the line-up in both singles and doubles for the Wildcats.

“There are so many things I love about Paris,” said coach Maes.”Clearly, she is very athletic and highly motivated, with a huge upside because she is such a hard worker and a student of the game, but I also like her because she is more than just a great tennis player. She is a bright, motivated, observant, passionate, and appreciative young lady, and she pretty much embodies the ultimate student-athlete. While I was recruiting her, I developed an immediate respect for her family and her values and felt she fit our program to a tee. She comes from a long line of D1 college athletes and there is no doubt she is going to be very successful on and off the court. I could go on and on about her qualities but the bottom line is that she will be an incredible representative of all that we stand for here at Arizona and we are thrilled to welcome her to our family.”

Arizona will begin their 2016 spring season on Jan. 24 against the University of Hawaii, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
