
Arizona Set to Compete in Jack Kramer Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. --- The Arizona womens tennis team is set to compete in the Jack Kramer Invitational this Thursday- Sunday. The tournament will take place at the Jack Kramer Tennis Club at 11 Montecillo Dr. Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., and is one of the last tournaments the Wildcats will be participating in this fall season.
“The Jack Kramer Invitational is a prestigious event and we are looking forward to participating,” head coach Vickey Maes said. “We had two great weeks of practice and now we are ready to put our progress to the test. In singles, everyone has put in a lot of extra time to work on individual improvements. In doubles, we are trying out new pairs and I'm excited to see how they will do in action.”
Arizona will be going up against players from four Pac-12 schools: Washington, Oregon, UCLA, and USC as well as eight non-conference programs: Baylor, Cal State Fullerton, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Ohio State, Pepperdine, San Diego, and UC Santa Barbara.
The Wildcats head to Los Angeles just a week removed from competing in the ITA Southwestern Regional Tournament in San Diego where the team finished with a combined record of 10-6, having no first round eliminations.
The team will leave Los Angeles and have under a week to practice before heading back to California to compete in the last event of the Fall season, the San Diego State Tournament which takes place Nov 13- Nov. 15.
