
Day One of PING/ASU Invitational in the Books

After one round of play at the PING/ASU Invitational, University of Arizona women's golf currently sits in a three-way tie for fourth place. The tournament is held at Karsten Golf Course on the campus of Arizona State, a par 72, 6,223-yard course in Tempe, Ariz.
The team finished the round with an even 288. Sophomore Wanasa Zhou led the Wildcats with a round of 71 (-1) and ends the day in a tie for 14th place. Senior Manon Gidali and junior Lindsey Weaver followed with scores of 72 (E) and tie for 24th place.
In a tie for 29th place, freshman Krystal Quihuis scored a 73 (+1). Senior Andrea Vilarasau rounds out the Arizona five with a 76 (+4) in a tie for 63rd place. As an individual, Kendall Prince finishes in a tie for 41st place with a 74 (+2).
The tournament features a stacked playing field with seven of the top-ten teams in the country. No. 7 Arkansas currently leads the team race with a 284 (-4). No. 5 Duke is two shots back of the lead with a 286 (-2). No. 25 Arizona State is in third place with a score of 287 (-1).
