How old were you when you started gymnastics?
I was 1 year old.
What is your favorite event and why?
My favorite event is floor. I love to perform. Ive been involved with the performing arts my whole life, so floor is my chance to exercise my passion for performance.
What is fun and special about collegiate gymnastics?
The most fun thing about collegiate gymnastics is being able to interact with the fans. It's the first time in a gymnast's life that fans come out to support—besides family—and it is a perfect way to end our careers with such a big crowd when we compete.
What made U of A stand out when you were being recruited?
The thing that made U of A stand out to me was the team. When I was being recruited, the team at the time had extremely fiery and spunky personalities, and I knew I would fit in just fine.
Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?
My favorite professional athlete is Blake Griffin. I love the LA Clippers, and I think he's really cute. (It's been a fantasy of mine to be a Clipper girl!)
What is your dream job after college?
My dream job after college is to be a student again. I really want to go to graduate school to get a Master in Fine Arts. As a job… It would be really cool to work as a curator for a large museum exhibitions at big institutions such as the Getty in LA or the MoMA in New York.
Do you have any siblings?
I have two younger brothers named Noah and Micah. Noah is a freshman at USC as a bio-medical engineering major. Micah is a freshman in highschool, and he is an extremely good athlete and wrestler. They nicknamed him "Phenom" because he went 11 in 2 as a Rookie this past summer.
Who is your celebrity crush?
I honestly don't crush on male celebrities at all! I look up to women celebrities. My obsession right now is Yara Shahidi from ABC's Blackish. She's only 16 and she is such an activist for social issues and women's rights.
What is a hobby you have outside of gymnastics?
My hobby is my schoolwork. All I ever do outside of gym is go on video and photo shoots. I also really enjoy going to art museums and galleries. If it has anything to do with art, I'm there!
What is your favorite GymCat memory?
My favorite GymCat memory is our most recent tailgate with the entire team. We were blasting music in Mary Roby, and we even choreographed a funny dance together before we went to the football game.
