TUCON, AZ – Arizona Gymnastics was ranked 18th in the 2017 national preseason coaches poll.  

The GymCats return 10 student-athletes for the 2017 season, including three seniors, Gabrielle Laub, Krysten Howard, and Selynna Felix-Terrazas.

Arizona also welcomes six incoming freshmen, Christina Berg from Tinley Park, Illinois, a seven-time Junior Olympic National Qualifier, Courtney Cowles from Canton, Connecticut, a four-time Junior Olympic National Qualifier, Shannon Farrell from Red Bank, New Jersey, who qualified five times for level 10 regional championships, Jenny Leung from Houston, Texas, a regional vault champion, Western national qualifier, and a Junior Olympic National Qualifier, Maddi Leydin from Melbourne, Australia, a member of the Australian World Gymnastics Team, and Heather Swanson, who placed 7th at Junior Nationals and was a state All-Around champion.

The Wildcats will face 6 preseason top-25 teams, and kicks off the season with a tri-meet at home against Texas Women's University and Utah State on Jan. 6th. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and is one of six meets featured on the Pac-12 Network this year.
