Arizona Takes Fourth at the Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona women's golf team concluded the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship in New Orleans on Tuesday. The Wildcats finished in fourth place with a score of 870 (+5). Freshman Gigi Stoll led the team with a three-day score of 215 (-1). She completed the tournament with a 72 (E) after rounds of 72 and 71 to tie for 11th place.
Sophomore Krystal Quihuis was just behind her, she finished the tournament with a 73 (+1) after rounds of 71 and 72 for a composite score of 216. She finished tied for 15th. Freshman Haley Moore finished up her second tournament with a 74 (+2). Her first and second rounds were a 74 and a 72, respectively. She finished tied for 25th place.
Just behind her was junior Wanasa Zhou who tied for 33rd place, who carded a 75 (+5) today after rounds of a 73 and a 74. Junior Jessica Vasilic earned a 74 (+2) in the last round, and finished the tournament with a portion of 42nd place after her initial rounds at 72 and 78.
Florida managed to capture the tournament title, sliding from seven-under to two-under today, while Sarah Burnham of Michigan State carded a five-under for the individual title. The competitive edge in this tournament remained prevalent, with teams making big plays in the final round today.
In the individual competition, senior Lindsey Weaver had a major turnaround from her first round of 75 (+3). She came back to tie for 18th, carding a 69 and a 73 in the second and third rounds respectively.
