TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona women's golf team began play at the SDSU March Mayhem tournament at The Farms on Monday in San Diego, California. The Wildcats have dominated through the first two rounds of play, sweeping Memphis 5-0 in the first round and currently leading Kansas 4-1 in the second round. The second round of play has been suspended due to darkness, but will resume Tuesday.

Freshman Haley Moore had a solid day on the course to help pace the Cats. After going 5&3 against her Memphis opponent, Moore is leading her Kansas opponent 2-up through 16. Freshman Gigi Stoll showed her grit yet again today, going 2&1 against Memphis and is 3 up versus Kansas through 13 holes.

Sophomore Krystal Quihuis, a winner last week at the Wildcat Invitational, went 1 up in the first round against Memphis, and is 1-up against her Kansas opponent through 13. Senior Lindsey Weaver went 4&2 versus Memphis, and finished 3-up against Kansas through 12. Junior Jessica Vasilic took down her Memphis opponent by finishing 3&1, but is behind her Kansas opponent 1-down with four holes to play.

Freshman Haley Moore has been showing superior play in today's matchups. Her 5&3 finish in the first round was the best on the team, and she notched four birdies in that round. Her current 2-up lead has been a four-hole comeback in ten holes, showing her ability to remain consistent over long periods of play.

Arizona will tee off again Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. PST to wrap up the end of round two. They will then take on the winner of the San Diego State versus UCLA Bruins matchup, hopefully beginning around 9 a.m. PST.
