MacKinnon Tabbed Player of the Week by America East and NEIBA

After a stellar week on the diamond, David MacKinnon received Player of the Week honors from the America East and from the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA).

MacKinnon was recognized after mashing 12 hits through five games last week, including two home runs and a double. He was a force to be reckoned with, driving in nine runs total, with three alone coming on Thursday against Villanova.

For MacKinnon, this is the second weekly performance award for the first baseman, as he also received America East Rookie of the Week Honors for the week of April 21, 2014. The last Hawk to win Player of the Week was Simon Kudernatsch for the week of May 7, 2012.

The Easton, Mass., native currently leads the team in batting average (.423), runs (19), hits (30), slugging percentage (.592), and total bases (42).

Hartford hits the road Tuesday night to take on Holy Cross at 5 p.m. Check out HartfordHawks.com for live stats and live video of the game.
