Vasilic Invited to 2016 NCAA Career in Sports

INDIANAPOLIS – Junior Jessica Vasilic was named as one of more than 200 current student-athletes and NCAA postgraduate scholarship recipients, with an interest in working within the sports industry, to the Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis.
The NCAA announced the attendees Friday. The group was selected by a committee from within the NCAA membership.
The four Pac-12 student-athletes selected were:
Vasilic (University of Arizona)
Kelsey English (University of Colorado)
Lucy May (University of Colorado)
Paloma Gomez (University of Oregon)
Participants who expressed an interest in pursuing a career in sports, and who were viewed as leaders on their campus, where invited to apply to attend the forum after a nomination by athletics administrators at their respective schools.
The forum provides student-athletes interactive experience with successful individuals in the sports business and a peek into their day-to-day duties and responsibilities.
In her third season with the Wildcats, Vasilic has developed into a key component of Arizona's team. Competing in nine tournaments this year and notching three tournaments in a top-ten spots and an additional one in the top-20, she has played a part in Arizona's current run into the NCAA tournament.
Vasilic holds the record for the third-lowest round at the University of Arizona, a 67 (-5), that she carded at the Arizona-hosted Wildcat Invitational this March. She also holds the spot for the fifth-lowest overall tournament score at a 209 (-7), which she earned at the Windy City Classic last October. Her 2015-16 round average of a 73.19 is the third-best on the team.
Vasilic plays the season's final tournament on May 20th at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
