Arizona Gymnastics Falls to Brigham Young University

PROVO, Utah – Tonight the Arizona GymCats took on the Brigham Young Cougars in Provo, Utah for the GymCats final meet of the regular season. Arizona lost to BYU with a score of 195.525 to 196.350. Next up, the Cats will travel to Stanford University to compete in the Pac-12 Championships.
Arizona began the meet on the uneven bars, earning a team score of 49.050. Selynna Felix-Terrazas earned a new season high and tied her career high with a 9.900, taking home the first place title. Freshman Christina Berg scored a big 9.850 and Krysten Howard and Danielle Spencer contributed a pair of 9.775's. Madison Cindric returned to the bars lineup for the first time since early January and earned a 9.750, and senior Gabrielle Laub contributed a 9.750.
Entering the second rotation the GymCats took to the vault. Sophomore Lauryn Mattson earned with second place title with a 9.825, tying her season and career high. This season Mattson has tied her season and career high of 9.825 five separate times. Madison Cindric contributed a 9.800 to the final team score of 48.775. Senior Gabrielle Laub earned a 9.775 which tied her season high, previously set at UCLA on February 25th, and senior Selynna Felix-Terrazas contributed a 9.725.
The GymCats earned a team score of 49.050 on floor during the third rotation. Krysten Howard and Madison Cindric each earned a 9.850, tying for second place in the competition. Also contributing to the floor score was Kennady Schneider with a 9.825, Heather Swanson a 9.775, and Lauryn Mattson with a 9.750.
On the final rotation Arizona competed on the balance beam. Despite several setbacks the GymCats still had several key routines. Krysten Howard earned a 9.925, tying her season and career high which was previously set last week against Arizona State. Madison Cindric also earned a 9.925 earning a new season and career high. The two tied for first place in the balance beam competition. Kennady Schneider contributed a 9.850, tying her season and career high as well.
Madison Cindric returned to the all-around competition for the first time since Maryland tonight, earning a score of 39.325. With a 39.325 she will take home first place in the all-around completion and will set a new season and career high.
