TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona Athletics Department honored the 2017 UA Sports Hall of Fame Induction Class at a formal ceremony and dinner on Thursday at the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa. The class, which includes four individuals and nine NCAA Championship relay teams, will also be recognized during an on-field presentation at halftime of football's home opener against NAU on Saturday.
This year, all former swimming and diving student-athletes, who were eligible and qualified for induction as an individual or relay champion prior to the Sports Hall of Fame policy change in 2014, were inducted together as part of the 2017 Hall of Fame Class. This unique class was celebrated in conjunction with our Arizona Aquatics Reunion, which is also taking place this weekend. We are excited to celebrate the success of these former student-athletes as we honor our current and former aquatics programs: Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving, Men's Water Polo and Women's Synchronized Swimming.
A complete list of individuals and teams who are members of this distinguished group can be found on the UA Sports Hall of Fame
website.
