What's the biggest aspect of your game that you are working on?
"The biggest aspect that I'm working on in my game right now is staying positive and having confidence in myself."
What is the biggest strength in your game?
"My biggest strength in my game is never giving up no matter what the circumstances are, and always grinding."
What was it like winning TRANS Amateur Championship?
"Winning the TRANS Amateur this summer was very motivating for me. It gave me a confidence boost in my game, which I have been working and striving hard on all summer to achieve. It was also special because my mom got to caddy for me. My parents and coaches have been very supportive in helping me to get to where I am today and winning the tournament meant the world."
Quihuis won the TRANS Amateur Championship at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club in Southern Pines, NC in July finishing the four-day tournament at 7-under par.
What has been your experience like so far in qualifying for Q-School?
"Going to qualifying school was to get a learning experience, to see what I need to improve on in my game and to get ready for after I finish my college career."
Quihuis has qualified for Stage II LPGA and Symetra Tour Qualifying Tournament on Oct. 19-22 at Plantation Golf and Country Club.
How was the experience of playing in the US Women's Amateur?
"This was my first appearance in the US Women's Amateur and it was a wonderful experience. My goal was to make match play and see what I was capable of. I got the amazing opportunity to play with the number four seed in the world (Jennifer Kupcho). I wanted to see what I was capable of when I was playing with her. It boosted my confidence when I came out on top because she is an outstanding player."
Quihuis reached the Round of 32 beating after Kupcho 2 & 1 in the Round of 64. Haley Moore and Gigi Stoll both competed in the event and each reached the Round of 16 respectively.
What are your expectations for yourself and the team this season?
"My expectations for this year is to progress myself to be a better player, and to improve my statistics even more. As for team expectations, I want to play to the best ability that I can in order to give my team the best shot at winning at every tournament."
