TUCSON, Ariz. – Emma Wilson opened up Tuesday's action at qualifying for the ITA All-American Championships against Marta Gonzales from The University of Georgia.
Wilson dropped her first match against Gonzales for the first time since September 20, ending her streak of five matches won in row. Gonzales defeated Wilson 6-1, 6-2. The Senior Wildcat bounced back against Rosie Cheng from William and Mary University defeating her, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6). Cheng is the No. 97 player in the nation.
"Emma had a tough match this morning but bounced back and got another top ranked win," said head coach
Ryan Stotland. "It has been quite a week for Emma. One more big match tomorrow. We are excited for another great opportunity."
Wilson will wrap up the ITA All-American Championships tomorrow.
