GymCat Feature: Payton Bellows

Payton Bellows is a sophomore from Southwick, Massachusetts. As a freshman, Bellows competed in six meets during the season. She earned a career high of 9.875 on floor against Utah and earned the highest vault score of the season for Arizona with a 9.950. Bellows is looking forward to starting the new season and competing on with her teammates.

How old were you when you started gymnastics?
I was 2 years old when I started gymnastics.

What is your favorite event and why?
My favorite event is vault because it is my best event, and it's fun and so fast to train for the perfect vault.

What is fun and special about collegiate gymnastics?
Collegiate gymnastics is fun because it turns into a team sport compared to individual with club, and the upbeat and exciting atmosphere from the coaches and teammates makes it special.

What made U of A stand out when you were being recruited?
I chose the University of Arizona because of the Pac-12 along with the beautiful, sunny location and amazing facilities.

What is your dream job after college?
My dream job after college is to be a Physician's Assistant.

What motivates you?
I'm motivated by the desire to always be better and wanting to beat my last performance every time.

What is a hobby you have outside of gymnastics?
I love shopping and hanging with friends by the pool!

What is your favorite GymCat memory thus far?
My favorite GymCat memory is the team retreat at Mount Lemmon.
