LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- The Cats concluded play at the Little Rock Invitational on Tuesday, October 23rd. Arizona finished in 7th place with a score of 886 (+22). The program had two individuals finish in the top ten, with sophomore
Trevor Werbylo finishing in 5th and junior
David Laskin tying for 10th.
Werbylo earned his second career top-ten finish, with his first being at the NIT his freshman season. The Tucson native scored 215 (+1), with 70 (-1) being his lowest round. Werbylo had 11 birdies throughout the tournament and averaged 4.58 on par-5's, the second lowest in the competition.
Laskin put on his second top-ten performance of the season, with a second place finish in the Huntsman Springs Invitational earlier this past month. This is Laskin's 4th career top-ten finish as a Wildcat. The junior was a steady force throughout the tournament with a final score of 218 (+2), and a low second round score of 68. Laskin tabbed eight birdies throughout the tournament and ranked 4th in par-4 scoring, averaging 4.07.
Freshman
Santeri Lehesmaa finished tied for 46th in his first tournament with Arizona. Senior
Dylan Stein tied for 56th, with a score of 228 (+12). Sophomore
Tianlang Guan scored 231 (+15) and tied for 70th. Invididual
Briggs Duce also finished tied for 70th and was one of nine golfers to eagle in the tournament.
Next up for the Cats is the St. Mary's Invitational in Pebble Beach, Calif. starting November 5th.
