Adra Parks is a sophomore from West Des Moines, Iowa. As a freshman, she earned a career high of 9.825 on floor against Cal and a career high of 9.775 on vault at the 2018 Pac-12 Championships. Parks is excited to start the competition season and show her skills on vault.
How old were you when you started gymnastics?
I was five years old when I started gymnastics.
What is your favorite event and why?
My favorite event is vault because it shows power and it is over quick.
What is fun and special about collegiate gymnastics?
Getting to compete with a great group of girls is what makes collegiate gymnastics fun.
What made U of A stand out when you were being recruited?
The reason I chose the U of A is because of the beautiful campus, the girls on the team, and the coaching staff.
What is your dream job after college?
I would like to be a sports agent after college.
What motivates you?
I'm motivated by winning, teamwork, improving, getting better every day and learning new skills.
What is a hobby you have outside of gymnastics?
I love hanging out with my friends and spending time by the pool outside of the gym.
What is your favorite GymCat memory thus far?
My favorite memories so far are traveling with the whole team last year and all of the fun that we had on the road.
