FIRST TOUCH
  • Arizona will travel up to Tempe to take on Arizona State for their last game of the regular season. The Wildcats are looking to win their third-straight against the Sun Devils for the first time in school history.

  • Last season, the Cats  came out on top with a 2-1 win over the Sun Devils thanks to a late goal scored by Amanda Porter.

  • Arizona finished this past weekend in Oregon with a 3-0 win against Oregon State and a 1-0 loss against Oregon.

1-1 in Oregon
Arizona completed the Oregon trip 1-1 after defeating Oregon State 3-0, and falling to Oregon 1-0. Goals against Oregon State were scored by Amanda Porter (1), and Kennedy Kieneker (2), who scored her first two goals of the season. After competing hard in regulation against Oregon, the Ducks came out on top with an overtime goal in the 95th minute.

Feeling Generous
Amanda Porter leads the team in assists with seven so far this year, which is also tied for the sixth-most in the Pac-12. Porter was able to get on the scoresheet for the third time this season with a goal against Oregon State, and scored the game-winning goal against Washington State, giving her 13 points on the season which is the third-most on the team. Porter needs three more assists to break the single-season record for assists.

Starting off on the Right Foot
Opponents have scored just four goals in the first half of Arizona's 18 games this season, while Arizona has scored 11 first-half goals.

Neat and Tidy
Through 18 games, Arizona has allowed just 16 goals to their opponents and had a stretch of 523 minutes where they didn't allow a single goal earlier this season, keeping five-straight clean sheets for the first time in school history.

Goals are Good
Arizona knocked in 21 goals during the non-conference slate, which is the most they have scored since 2013 when the Wildcats scored 23 in the non-conference portion of the schedule. The Cats also have scored the fifth-most goals in the Pac-12 with 33 total.

The Burd Cage
Lainey Burdett is currently fifth in the Pac-12 in goals against average with a mark of 0.85. Additionally, she ranks sixth in the Pac-12 in save percentage (.800) and is tied for second in clean sheets in the conference (seven). Earlier this season Burdett became Arizona's first goalkeeper with at least 21 shutouts. She also earned Pac-12 goalkeeper of the week for her performance against Washington and Washington State.

Jada's Clutch Gene
Of Arizona's 11 wins, Jada Talley has scored the game-winner in four of those matches. Four game-winning goals is tied for the third-most in the Pac-12, while her 57 total shots is the eighth-most in the conference and her seven goals is tied for 10th. In 2017, Talley scored just one goal and took 13 shots in 18 games played.

The Young Guns
Arizona's five top point scorers through 18 games are all underclassmen.

Jada Talley (15 pts, So.)
Amanda Porter (13 pts, So.)
Jill Aguilera (12 pts, RSo.)
Emily Knous (11 pts, Fr.)
Brooke Wilson (7 pts, Fr.)

Additionally, of Arizona's 33 goals scored this season, only eight have been scored by upperclassmen, all of which are juniors (Morgan McGarry, Samantha Falasco, Kennedy Kieneker, Brynn Moga and Taryn Siegele,).

GOAT Status
On Sept. 9, 2018, Tony Amato became the winningest coach in school history with his 59th victory. It took Amato 107 games to become the winningest coach in school history while it took Dan Tobias 135 games to win his 58 games back in the mid to late 2000s. Collecting the most wins in school history is just a sliver of what Amato has done during his time at Arizona.
- Only coach to play in three NCAA Tournaments
- Only coach to have a record above .500
- Only coach to have three or more winning seasons
- Most conference wins in school history (25)

Perseverance Pays Off
Taryn Siegele's journey to Division I soccer is a unique one. Before joining the team in 2017, Siegele had previously tried out for the team but was not offered a spot. However, Siegele was offered a role as a manager, but politely declined and made it a goal of hers to make the team as a player. In 2017, Siegele tried out again and this time was offered a spot on the roster. She scored her first career goal against Boise State on Sept. 7 in the 80th minute to seal the deal and give the Cats a 2-0 lead.
