Kayla Wilkins Signs NLI to Play for Arizona

Tucson, Ariz. - Head women's tennis coach Ryan Stotland has received National Letter of Intent from Kayla Wilkins, a native to Charlotte, North Carolina. Wilkins will join the team in the Fall of 2019.

"Kayla is a coachable person who has only gotten better each year," said head coach Ryan Stotland. "Her game is just starting to escalate.  We know she was a bit under the radar, so we are excited to get someone of Kayla's ability and upside.  She not only brings success on the court, but one of the best brightest academic students you will ever see.  Kayla is the whole package we are looking for with her tennis game, her academic success, and her wonderful personality.  We are all very excited to get started with Kayla and help her reach her full potential."  It is an exciting time for us all her at Wildcat Nation and we know that Kayla is ready to Bear Down!"

Wilkins started playing competitive tennis at the age of 14 and trains at the Charlotte Indoor Tennis Academy with Tiago Ruffoni, a former collegiate player at Auburn University and ATP player who beat Roger Federer in his junior career. Wilkins is the daughter of Chris and Lisa Wilkins. Her sister, Emma Wilkins also plays competitive tennis.

"I am excited to be an Arizona Wildcat behind coach Ryan and coach Denise," said Wilkins. "We can become one of the best teams in the country and bring an NCAA trophy to Arizona."
