Danielle Spencer is a senior from Scottsdale, Arizona. Spencer competed on the uneven bars in every meet during her junior year. She set a season high of 9.850 against Denver during the 2018 season and set a career high of 9.875 on the uneven bars against Oregon State during the 2017 season. She was also a Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention in 2017-18. Spencer is looking forward to competing in McKale Center for her senior year and showing fans the routines that she has been working on.
 
How old were you when you started gymnastics? 
I was four years old when I started gymnastics.

What is your favorite event and why? 
My favorite event is the uneven bars because it's unlike any of the other events.

Favorite motivational quote?
"If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you."
 
What is fun and special about Arizona gymnastics? 
The family atmosphere within the Arizona gymnastics program is extremely special as well as the immense support received from the surrounding Tucson community.

What is your dream job after college? 
My dream job after college is working within the field of biomedical engineering and developing products/medical devices that better people's lives.
 
What motivates you?
My special needs twin brother James motivates me.

What advice do you have for the underclassmen?
Don't take any of this for granted. These four years fly by so try to soak up every moment of it.

What is a hobby you have outside of gymnastics?
I enjoy hiking if I have time. My free time currently is spent in my research labs.
 
What are you looking forward to most about this season? 
I am looking forward to showcasing all the hard work that has been put into this preseason and going out there with this team and really enjoying every last moment of it.

What is your favorite GymCat memory thus far?
My favorite GymCat memory thus far is still the first time I ever competed in McKale Center my freshman year.
