SANTA CRUZ, Calif.- The Arizona men's golf team concluded play at the Western Intercollegiate in ninth place, with a final score of 1,066 (+17).
George Cunningham finished tied for first, for his fourth top ten finish of the season.

"We had a solid final round today getting four rounds at Par or better on great course," commented head coach
Jim Anderson. "We have solid depth on our team and will be looking for the line up to be rounded out soon. Next week will be another great opportunity and we have a short week to prepare. George was fantastic this week. He has built his confidence over time by sticking to the things that make him great. The team is so happy for him and we know he will be ready for a final push with the last regular season event in Tempe next week."

North Carolina took home the tournament title, at 14 under, and Norman Xioang of Oregon took home the individual title and "Blue Jacket", 10 under par.

Senior
George Cunningham tied for the first place title, with a total score of 200 (-10). Cunningham lost the sole individual title of the tournament during the individual playoff, where he bogeyed the first hole. His first and second round of 66 were his second lowest 18 hole scores of the season. The Tucson local held a steady lead throughout three rounds, where he went under par all three for 17 rounds under par this year. He finished the tournament with ten birdies, the fourth most in the field. Cunningham also ranked first and second in par three and par five scoring.

"Today was a great day for me," commented Cunningham. "I'm obviously a little bummed I didn't get the individual win in the playoff! I was playing against some really good players and I just missed a putt! But I'm still very happy with my finish!"
