SKOKIE, Ill. --Â The Arizona women's golf team placed sixth out of 15 teams at the Windy City Collegiate on Tuesday. The Wildcats put together their best round of the tournament, posting 3-under as a group.
Â
Junior
Yu-Sang Hou led the Cats all week, posting 71 (-1) in the final round to finish the tournament at 3-under and in a tie for sixth place. She notches her ninth career top-10 finish, this time in her 2019 debut.
Â
Freshman
Vivian Hou had the low round for the Cats on day two, carding three birdies on the back nine to shoot a 3-under 69.
Vivian Hou's solid final round got her back to 4-over and into the top 40 for the week.
Â
Sophomore
Ya Chun Chang put together another exceptional round, pouring in two birdies and making one bogey en route to her second 71 of the week. Chang's performance landed her just outside the top ten in a tie for 11th.
Â
Freshman
Therese Warner put together her best round of the week, tallying three birdies on her way to a 74 (+2). Senior
Sandra Nordaas concluded her tournament with a final-round 76.
"The team fought hard today in the final round to take sixth place," said head coach
Laura Ianello. "Very inconsistent play yesterday. We really didn't utilize the par-5s and it was a little unlike us with our poor wedge game. We couldn't really maximize our putts made for birdie. Today was a good day led by
Yu-Sang Hou. She finished sixth in her first tournament of the year for the Cats. Vivian came up big today shooting 3-under, as did
Ya Chun Chang shooting 1-under. A good round by our freshman
Therese Warner with a 2-over round. I'm excited about this young group."
Â
The Cats will be back in two weeks to compete at the Stanford Intercollegiate at Stanford Golf Course, the site of the 2020 Pac-12 Championships.
