MAKE YOUR PLANS FOR HOMECOMING
We are quickly approaching one of the biggest weekends of the year with Homecoming just two weeks away. This is a very special weekend at the University of Arizona as Wildcats from all over the country return to campus to celebrate this great university. This will be an action-packed weekend at Arizona Athletics, and we want to have everyone make their plans now.
Â
Homecoming will be capped off by Arizona Football's game versus Oregon State on
Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1:30 p.m. (MST) inside Arizona Stadium. Our team will wear special uniforms to honor Coach Dick Tomey and his storied Arizona Desert Swarm teams and recognize alumni from those teams that helped write the storied history of the program. We will also honor Coach Tomey's tremendous legacy this weekend by officially dedicating the Dick Tomey Practice Fields, which will be a fantastic tribute to Coach Tomey and his everlasting impact on the program, athletics department and university.
Â
With other terrific festivities planned throughout the weekend, we will have a detailed Homecoming schedule in next week's Wildcat Wednesday email. We want to give you advance notice on what will be a very memorable weekend and help you make your plans ahead of time. This will be a wonderful weekend for all Wildcats as we pay tribute to Coach Tomey and celebrate this exceptional University.
Â
Special Desert Swarm
inspired replica uniforms and a

Tedy's Team, are already on sale at UA Bookstores, the A Store at McKale Center and online.

ACADEMIC CHAMPIONS
We recognize academic success every home football game through our many on-field recognitions, which include faculty, staff, fans, supporters and student-athletes among many other important figures in our community. Academic Champions is one of these recognitions and was featured in our last home game. Arizona Athletics recognizes student-athletes who were academic champions with a 3.0 GPA or greater for the last academic year. We honored 295 Wildcats for this award, including 37 who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Â
Wildcat student-athletes have recently matched their all-time record of 86 percent Graduate Success Rate, an NCAA metric that measures the graduation rates of student athletes. You can read more about it
here.
Student-athlete success in the classroom is at the core of the Wildcat Way, and we want to make sure we recognize outstanding academic achievement in front of our many loyal supporters at Arizona Stadium.

Â
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Did you know? Student-athletes must achieve benchmarks each semester and year of full-time collegiate enrollment in order to remain eligible to represent the University of Arizona in competition. These benchmarks include meeting a certain percentage of credits towards their declared degree program each year and maintaining a specified minimum GPA. Due to demanding schedules, student-athletes often take advantage of many departmental resources, including study times with tutors and academic staff members who travel with our teams. Our staff continues to closely monitor all areas of academics to ensure academic integrity while our student-athletes work towards their degree.
