TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona softball picked up a pair of run-rule victories to open the Arizona Fall Invitational, defeating Central Arizona 10-0 and Arizona Western 15-0 in a pair of five-inning contests at Hillenbrand Stadium.
The Wildcats improved to 4-0 this fall and stretched their run differential to 66-1 over the four contests.
The Arizona Fall Invitational continues with six games on Saturday. Arizona plays Cypress at 3 p.m. and Eastern Arizona at 5 p.m. MST. A full schedule of the Arizona Fall Invitational can be found

Arizona 10, Central Arizona 0 (5 innings)
Arizona softball run-ruled Central Arizona in its Arizona Fall Invitational opener, defeating the Vaqueras 10-0 in five innings at Hillenbrand Stadium.

Alyssa Denham picked up the win for the Wildcats, striking out six over 4.0 nearly perfect innings. Denham had a perfect fall going until surrendering a two-out swinging-bunt single in the top of the fourth, her lone baserunner allowed in 9.0 innings this fall.

Jessie Harper and Sharlize Palacios homered in the game for Arizona, two of eight Wildcat hits by eight different batters. Harper led the Cats with eight RBI.

The Cats stole five bases in the game, two apiece by freshmen Janelle Meono and Isabella Dayton and one by
Reyna Carranco. Meono also showed off her speed in the fourth, scoring from second on a wild pitch.

Arizona used small ball to plate a pair of runs in the first, using a bunt single by Janelle Meono, a walk to
Reyna Carranco and a double steal to put runners on second and third with nobody out.

Ivy Davis hit a sun-aided infield RBI double to put the Cats up 4-0.

Jessie Harper hit a two-run homer in the second and Sharlize Palacios hit a solo shot in the third to put the Cats up by a touchdown and an extra point.

Arizona tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning without a hit. The Cats scored both of their runs on wild pitches, including when Janelle Meono scored from second base on a pitch that got to the backstop.

The Cats walked off in the fifth. Dayton hit a leadoff triple and scored on a single by
Hanah Bowen.

Malia Martinez's five RBI helped pace Arizona to a run-rule victory, 15-0, over Arizona Western on Friday night in the Arizona Fall Invitational.Â
Hannah Bowen and
Marissa Schuld combined to one-hit Western Arizona, a bloop infield single by Azalea Moore on the seventh pitch in her at bat against Schuld in the fourth.Â
Reyna Carranco and
Ivy Davis each hit home runs in the lopsided victory.Â
