Wildcats Travel to San Diego to Continue Fall Season

San Diego, Calif.- After winning two singles titles and a doubles title in Tucson, the Wildcats are heading to southern California to the San Diego State Invitational. Freshmen Nick Lagaev and Hiroki Sakagawa will be competing along with sophomores Conner Olsen and Jared Horwood. The meet begins Friday, Oct. 4 and ends Sunday, Oct. 6.
Olsen has taken home two singles titles in his two tournament appearances this fall season. He holds a 7-0 singles record as well as a 3-3 record in doubles. Horwood performed well in the Wildcat Invitational going 3-1 in singles play, bringing his total fall season record to 5-3.
Lagaev made his Wildcat debut in South Carolina for the Gamecock Invitational. In a tournament that included ranked players, he finished with a 1-3 in singles and 2-1 in doubles. In two weeks of tournament play, Sakagawa has amassed a 5-3 singles record and a 5-2 doubles record, including a doubles title in the first tournament at New Mexico State.
